if a default is showing on your credit file sometimes you can wait upto six months. Your best bet is to apply for your credit file where it shows that your default is satisfied, go the bank and if it is declined due to bad credit which it usually is, show them your credit file which they will fax to the underwriters and then hopefully a being well it should be offered to you within 48 hours.
but if you cant be bothered doing that you can always apply for credit with banks that charge you really high interest
u need to get a bank account in the uk and have been at a address for a while to get credit. it can take anywhere from 2 months to a few years depending on ur credit record apply to experian or eqifax to find out what urs is like.
