Can anyone tell me what is the average paid salary ?
Answers:
The problem with the average salary figures is they are distorted by high earners so that the average actually comes out higher. So in Retail foe example the vast majority of workers earn around 50% of the average wage.
In the UK, it's somewhere around £24k for blokes and £20 - £22 for women. It was a few years back so it might be slightly higher than that though now.
It's about 24,000 Thousand for blokes and about 20,000 thou for the ladies! Not sure if the ladies figure is right though. This question was published in the newspapers about a fortnight ago!
In what field - salaries differ according to area of work.
Are you talking about salaries in the advertising industry? Or generally? I run a communications company and we pay our freelancers about £15 per hour, which is a decent living for someone who's trained and worked for a long time and has lots of experience. But if you're just starting off, or are working in the non-creative side, you could expect to be paid less than this.
I think I read that the average salary in Britain is up at £27000 now, presumably that's for men though as women generally get paid less than men, even for doing the same jobs.
What you actually get depends hugely on what you do and what industry you do it for. Unless you are in a top paying industry you are better off working for yourself. Jobs that are paid for out of the public purse and 'pink collar' (i.e. girl jobs like looking after kids or supporting the men who do the real work) jobs are generally the worst paid.
