Raw materials are consumables needed at the start of a project, that get used up during the project.

For boiling an egg, the raw materials are egg and water.

For building a house, the raw materials are bricks, cement, wood, tiles etc.

For writing a book, the raw materials are ink and paper.
Things you use to make your product (the thing you want to sell). This can be in a compeltely raw form (pure metal,gas, etc.), or a form already made into pieces to be assembled.
Mterials needed to manufacture something. Trees, metal ore, etc.
Just raw or example would be ABS plastic in sheets or pellets it is raw prior to final part after being molded. Same applies for metals sheets,pellets,etc. Most all products have an raw form.
