How much percentage for shops selling goods on my behalf?
I have a product but no outlet (apart from ebay). I want to offer a couple of local shops the chance to sell it for me. If the final product price is £10 how much of that should I offer to the shop for selling it on my behalf? What would be a reasonable amount/percentage?
Answers:
In the US, there is a franchise called iSoldIt http://www.isoldit.com where they basically handle the entire ebay selling process for you.
Their commission is basically 30% of the amount the item's selling price
http://www.i-soldit.com/fees.asp.
Plus, they will deduct from you the selling fees incurred as well as payment processing fees.
Simply put, they are not cheap. But if you don't have time or dont want to be hassled taking pictures of the items or learning how to sell on ebay, they can make you better money than downright throwing the items or giving them to charity.
For example, you sell through them a scrapbook kit that ends for $20 -
TOTAL PRICE = $20
LESS:
iSoldit Commission (40%) = $8
Listing/Gallery photo fee = $0.70
5.25% fee = $1.05
Payment processing fee $.30 plus 2.5% of the total transaction value (sales price, shipping & handling and sales tax) = $1.10
So you will end up with $10.20 more or less.
