I have a bad credit rating and need to open a bank accoun.?

I don't want a cheque book, but will need a debit card - which banks are most sympathetic to some one who is trying to clear debts?

Bad credit is one of the worst problems to have. however there exists a solution.

I will hereby talk from my personal experience.

I did debt consolidation a couple of years ago, however If I had to do it again I would pay to some minor details,

The Post Office offers a few 'bank' accounts - so go in talk to them.
Try Natwest Step Account online. Heard thay are not so fuss. Applied mine last week and got a letter to prove my id and have sebnt them a current bank statement.
Many banks now offer a 'no credit check' bank account.
