I have to proove that I am the one for the job! That I can double the turnover selling to restaurants.?
How do I convince a managing director that I can double his turnover from 200k to 400k and what time scale should I be suggesting I can do this in? Also what sort of salary package should I be asking for?
I met this guy through another job and he thinks I am suitable but he is not the boss and there has never been a job advertised!
I am passionate about this opportunity and need some help from you guys.To sum up it would be a job selling upmarket items to hotels, restaurants and clubs. It is already established but there are two choices either me or an agency.Any help, ideas, tactics would be appreciated. Thanks gerry f.

The first thing you need to learn is to spell correctly and proofread your work. Until you do that, everything will be a lost cause.
this is the second time you av asked that.
Why the f*ck should we help you ?
learning to spell prove correctly would be a good start. So many people let themselves down by sloppy presentations.
If you are so anxious to prove yourself, and so sure you can return the results you say, why not offer your services on a commission-type basis - that is, a set amount for each additional 50K earned and a large bonus to be paid at the 400k mark.
Once you do that, you will be in a much better position to negotiate the salary you want.
If you are that confident, offer to work on commission. We have done that ourselves when a client has approached us with an idea we thought was good enough to promote but they didn't have the cash to hire us.
If you can't afford to work on straight commission right away, offer a two week part-time effort and get started.
PS, if this works for you, don't forget where you got the idea. We like bonuses, too!
Good luck .
Well you could start by asking him how long they took to get to their current turonver and how they grow to that size, that will provide some sort guide to potential and timescales. Ask tho see their curernt business plan. what does that say, what is the competition doing? (if they say they dont have any - there deluded or lying)
Given the tone of your question tho it sounds as tho you are not a 100% salesman so I would ask whether you want to be doing this. Most "real" salesman that I have met would have delivered on something by now rather than still be at planning stage. Not trying to be be critical, just some people can sell anything to anyone at anytime, and the rest of us can't!
