Im an English guy living in Sweden and moving back in a few weeks time, will my bank debt follow me to the uk?
Answers:
Dude, bank debt isn't free money. Do the right thing and pay it back. If you don't than the shareholder's of your Swedish bank will have to fit the bill, probably a lot of Swiss pension funds no doubt, and you don't want to p those people off.
Depends if the bank has branches or partnerships in the UK.When u move back will you will need to open a new account ? they'll probably ask for the Swedish bank to confirm your id and proof of your credit worthiness.
Once they ask for that then they'll know your new address and probably get the debt collectors after you or they could even sell on the debt to a UK company..Nowadays with banking being so international there's no way to hide.
oh, yes. they will follow you everywhere!
A better idea would be to talk to the bank manager and propose him a plan to repay through bank transfer. Or, even better it would be, to pay it off with maybe a new loan in UK. Then you do not have the bank transfer costs and you take the debt literally with you and nobody can follow you and you have protected your credit ratings!
No. My sister did exactly that and just said she has been out of the country working and cashed her paycheques over the counter at the banks.
She then maxed out all her credit cards and emigrated to the USA!! naughty I know but fair play!
Yes, as sure as eggs is eggs, so you had better cover your tracks well,
better than you have on here, that was your silliest mistake.
