Why are these 'investment' meetings held?
They claim to have made a lot of money and want to get you to do the same by attending their meeting. I can not understand if they have a good way to make money why do they want to share it with others?

My boyfriend works in the industry. Always check that the company is FSA regulated (this is in the UK). If it is not , stay clear of them !The reason why they want your money is because they charge you an initial fee to enter the fund , annual management fees and exit fee. They are guaranteed to make money for themselves this way even when markets are going down. If you are rich enough to invest in a hedge fund they will even charge a performance fee , normally they will take 20% of your profits.
Can you say.pyramid scheme?
Perhaps the way they make money is to charge other people a fee for teaching them how to make a lot of money?
