How long does a cheque from nat west to nat west take to clear?

Answers:
Cheques never clear, they are made availble to you. However if you need the disclaimer here it is:

"You should allow at least 4 working days before using money from a cheque you have paid"

Sometimes the funds will show up immediately if you pay it in your home branch but not always. But usually in up to 4 working days! But can still come back unpaid!!
Sometimes in a day if it is electronically presented.
3 days
usually same day if banks are the same
My experience - 7 business days.
usually same day
halifax do that
not sure bout natwest
I think its 4 working days,
It can be as much as 7 days if it means that they can hit you with a charge in some way or other. THERE IS A BETTER WAY: Close your account and move to another bank!!

Before it is tooooo late.

You have been warned.
I should ask them but they should be able to give you money straight away
Technically it is instant, but they have what is known as standing/waiting days, this can vary from 1-7 working days. This is so they can earn interest on it without passing it on to you. See moneysaver.com
Anything up to five days and in the meantime the bastards are earning interest on YOUR money. Think about it!
Hi Annie,

If both accounts are at the same branch then it should be same day clearance.
If not it should take the standard three working days!

Hope that helps
Nat West do not use on line real time systems so it can take up to 4 days. Lloyds tsb is the only UK bank that has real time banking so in house cheques are cleared the same day
You can draw on it from a machine (but not at the counter??) after 3 days, but it doesn't actually clear for 6 days.
This would normally be 3-5 working days.
