How did you decide what you wanted to do for your career?

Answers:
I chose a career that I loved, no point doing a job if you don't like it
I'm only 18 and don't actually have a career but i know what i want to do. i want to be a political journalist so am doing politics at uni. i chose this because i love to write and i love discussing politics and find it interesting. basically took what i loved, put em together and came up with a career, just hope i can get into it
It was at a very early age..when I was about 6.my father was a police officer..and I thought..wow..that's what I wanna be. When I went to a careers meeting at school and told the teacher that I wanted to be a police officer.he told me I wasn't enough of a bastard to be one!! Anyway.years later when I was working at an event.he walked over..and I told him that I had been to "Bastard Night Classes"!!! I have no regrets.and best thing about it.I get to retire at 50!!
I went with my intuition! I left my job & moved back with my folks to go back to college & train for it.. at age 29!! I really knew that what I wanted to do felt right for me. so I did it!
You know it. What do you like to do ask your self that question.
analyse urself, no one but u can choose ur future and no one but u know urself more than anybody. see what u r best at, see which path suits for u and go for it. good luck.
After working in offices since leaving school, I decided that time was getting on & I'd need to make my mind up before it was too late!! Went to uni at 23 for three years and trained as a paediatric nurse!! Just knew I didn't want to sit at a desk for the rest of my life!!
Ask yourself some easy questions. Do you like working with tools, people, computers, or whatever? Do you want a job where you have to dress nice each day, or work someplace more casual? Do you want a job working with lots of other people, or do you prefer to work alone? I work in apartment maintenance. I can dress casual, have no set schedule, and I like working with tools. The pay is good and there is always a good demand.
Well, what did you chose for GCSEs and A levels? Or, if you don't know what they are, what did you chose for your major exams? Try following those subjects up.
I decided I wanted to take control of my own destiny and no longer wanted to be an employee. I knew that if some of the employers I worked for could do it, then anyone could do it. So then I started studying leverage and residual income and what I learned is that this can never be acquired by working for someone else. I also found out that by owning my own business, I got all the tax breaks that big companies do and that there was no cap on my salary.
I have always been the type of person who looks for solutions and am a great problem solver, so I needed to find a way to put those traits into a business and earn money doing what I love.
I searched a lot of companies until I found the one that is right for me. I will never be an employee again, and earn more than many people who have college degrees.
I asked my self a simple question. what do you LIKE to do?. and then I realice i had to become a publicist and marketing relation person.jejeje
I got decent education behind me then I went looking for work
i chose a career that i would enjoy doing
