Why does one particular store keep rejecting my Visa elecron card?
I am getting no help on this matter from either PC World or my bank. Before anyone sayd "lack of funds2 sorry to disappoint but I had a couple of thousand in there when I went to buy some printer ink today from PC World. This is the third time in three months it has rejected my Co-op bank electron card and Co-op say they have not rejected it, it is the shop's issuer, and the shop say that there is a problem with my card because it doesn;t happen with other electron cards.. yet this card has been changed in the last month! Anyone know why this is happening with this card.. it's bloody embarassing especially as I have funds!
Answers:
Same card, same shop, same blooming problem. When you finaly manage to get through to Co-op they are as much use as a chocolate teapot. I am afraid I have been unable to resolve this issue either and now use another card whenever I shop at pc world. i also get the same problem at Tesco's. If you ever get it sorted let me know. Good luck, I know you're gonna need it! ~;-}
Then stop using it!
This is something you need toask your bank - not the store - they can only go by the electonic data they receive back.
From experience, sometimes if it is busy the system cannot cope and rejects many - I know it is embarising but her it happens to us all.
May be the shop has something against you?
Although I dont have the answer I do know that Visa electron and solo cards are notorious for failing in stores. It has happened to me in Boots a few times and you have to go to the cash point all red faced. I would say try ordering a new card as sometimes the chips get faulty. Best of luck xx
if your card doesnt work anywhere else, then what may have happened is it got too close to a magnet somewhere, like at the store when they run something aver the magnet to disarm the anti-theft device.
use another card
Have you tried getting the store to enter the numbers manually. Our credit card machine sometimes rejects cards the customer says work elsewhere and conversely it sometimes accepts cards the customer says they have had trouble with at other shops.
