What is the cheapest way to post a large parcel from Northern Ireland to mainland UK?

The last guy is an idiot Duh they are 2 separate Islands with a bit of Atlantic ocean between them called the Irish sea.
Dumb ***
Anyway a service which runs through DHL will be about the fastest and cheapest called www.parcel2go.com if it is over 2 kilos if it is under 2 kilos but only just like 1995 grams then strange as it sounds special delivery at £7.40 plus it is automatically insured for £500 they tend not to lose or damage those.
If under 1500 grams I recommend first class recorded depending on the weight about £5 under a kilo second class recorded since it will take the same amount of time but they only go up to 1 kilo for around £3 always send things of any value recorded anything over £40 send special delivery to get insurance and anything over 2 kilos it is usually cheaper to use a courier like DHL or City link because after you buy insurance through the post office the price works out more.
If you don't care how long it takes or what condition the package arrives in if at all then Royal mail parcel force economy this can take up to 10 days and sometimes looks like it has been dragged behind the van rather then in it.
The cheap labour day workers will open them if the tiniest little crack shows and take anything that looks to have any value.
I ship about 600 packages per month all over the world so a fair bit of experience.
Hope that helps.
Put the correct address on the parcel, pack everything in water-proof cover and throw it in the river connecting the two.
It all works on weight. Sometimes the couriers are cheaper than the PO
Try a courier service, like Initial Citilink, they may be cheaper or have special rates. With the new rates from the PO coming into effect soon, shop around.
Try DHL!
Go down to the nearest dock and start asking departing boat owners if they are going to the big island. Ask them if they would mind dropping your parcel off at the nearest postal facility.
Give them something reasonable for postage plus a couple of quid for their time.
This has always worked for me.
Carrier pigeon.
best thing is going to the airport, hand it over to a stewardess and give her a "tip".
Done that many times. Works fine.
Just go to the post office and ask them for the cheapest option. You don't even need to send it if you think it is too expensive, just ask them to weigh it and tell you how much it would cost. If it is quite heavy they will probably tell you standard parcel.
