lol I'm in the same boat as you, its gives me lots of time with my son plus the money is good. it does mess up your body clock and it takes years of your life. like me you must find its very easy to be up for at least one full day and more with out sleep don't think it would be possible for me to do this if i was on day shift.
If you can learn to sleep during the day, it can be the best hours to work.
You don't usually have to put up with the company bigwigs.
You can quite often have more flexibility in your responsiblities.

i worked 3ed for 22 years, it was OK but i missed allot of my family life and my kids growing up/good and bad times
i did once ( driving graveyard shift for a cab company). i hated it cos it has adverse effects on one's internal clock and can lead to other health problems, (lack of viatmin D-, nightbliness etc)
not me but might aswell seen as i do be up all night because have allways been a bad sleeper!
i have been working as a nite nurse for the past 12yrs and love it . positive for me is i love early mornings,late nites,& time with my own thoughts if im lucky enough to get a quiet nite @ work doing 12am-8am
