My son has finished uni with a 2/2 degree in busness nformation managment. any idea where he can get a job?

Answers:
He needs to register with some recruitment agencies / consultancies who specialise in this sector and can give him advice for this field. Putting his CV on the likes of Jobsite/Monster/Total Jobs will allow agencies and employers to search for him. Also looking online and researching the big players in this industry and what their requirements are for graduate training programmes is also a good idea. He can then fire his CV/application out to all that accept a 2:2 or above. If he has a clear aim of what he wants to achieve and shows drive and determination to suceed, his degree result shouldn't matter too much. I wish him all the luck :)
Where all of us college graduates get jobs - McDonald's!
asda!
he will find it hard to get a reputable company to employ him with a 2:2. my sugestions would be to start at the bottom and work up witin a smaller business! look on fish4jobs.co.uk
Degrees don't seem to count for a lot these days.
2/2 in the current climate is considered fairly mediocre - he might struggle to get a job if there are applicants with better qualifications..

That said, he could try to regain the advantage by doing other things such as voluntary work in an appropriate field or for charities..

Best of luck anyway
That sad parent asking where their son can get a job. You have put him through University, and now trying to help him get a job! Hey he man now let him get of his a*s*s and look for work himself and learn stand on his own two feet
I got a 2.2 in Business Studies, and have average A level grades. I had interviews for a number of large multinational firms, and have been employed by 2 of them, one of them a major global company, in jobs related to my degree. As long as he has the determination and some experience, even just in a shop, he can achieve any job he wants to achieve.

If he has just graduated, check out www.milkround.co.uk, www.doctorjob.com, www.prospects.ac.uk, and www.hobsons.co.uk
I know people who have about the same qualifications and are doing well.

I disagree with the majority of people on this site who are so negative, as another person said, with the right attitude and a good work ethic..he will do well
he should attend graduate recruiting fairs. many big corporates hire graduates for management training and offer real jobs at the end of it. Student service at his uni should be able to supply a list of fairs and companies offering paid placements
2/2 would get him into the graduate programmes of the civil service.
Sorry Tony I'd agree with one of the other correspondents and say if you're doing the looking then your son is too lazy to get a decent job.

It all comes down to effort - there are hundreds of graduate employment schemes in the UK (a quick google search will find many of them - retailers, the civil service, engineering firms, IT firms, McDonald's all have them), there are hundreds of employment agencies out there (again google or the use of a decent jobs board such as monster or total jobs) and if he registered with a few then he had have a decent chance of finding a job, and there's also simple things like looking in the local paper etc. though the job centre is probably a waste of time for a graduate.

A 2:2 is not a bad degree, and won't make him unemployable but his lack of effort in looking for work, honestly it speaks volumes that his dad is asking this question - combined with the fact that his degree was in business information management and he doesn't know where to look for a job? What information is he qualified to manage about businesses anyway? Says that unless he pulls his finger out then working behind the counter at Tesco might just be beyond him.
