You are asking the wrong question. What is the least difficult way (easiest does not equate to legal/moral/honest)? Buy the biggest house you can afford and live in it while renting it out. Keep your tenants happy. Save above 20% of your income, much of it in retirement accounts and invest aggressively for the long term. Have no children.
Now is a million dollars really worth that? Probably not!
