I need some advice on benefits?
I have a 3 month old baby and i am doing a home study course.my partner is working and has been working 70 hours a week just to survive and we r still struggling.i have applied for housing benefit, income support and got turned down we have got tax credits but we only have £17.45 a week to live on for 3 weeks is there any other help i can get?
Answers:
You should have applied for child benefit, working family tax credit, child tax credit, also go to your local job centre they should be able to tell you if you can claim anything because you are studying, or save yourself a journey and see your local citizens advice bureau as they will be able to tell you the lot. If you rent from a council or are having problems paying any council bills like council tax, go speak to them, they are only human and will help you as much as possible. They only send shirty letters when they don't know what is going on.
Check with your health visitor to see if you can claim milk tokens.
i sugest you try to see a guy at the citizens advice they should be able to help
You can apply for a crisis loan I think if you are in need, but thats good advice above, go to CAB citizens advice bureau. They have all the answers and theyre on your side.
Are you claiming child benefit - that's not means tested. Everyone gets it regardless of income?
How come your partner works 70 hours and you've only got less than £18 per week to live on????
