If you could have your own business, what type of business would you have and why?

I used to have a paper shop. But it blew away.
charity business.a company that is run on funding etc that provides charity in all the areas i want.
Id like to start a private investigation company specialising in investigating cheating spouses. You would get job satisfaction ,it would be exiting and you would be able to charge a bomb to investigate a case, You'd be rolling in the money.
Also Id have a fountain in my Lobby & a widescreen HD television in my office.
a chocolate factory and i would have to taste everything we made!! mmmmmm
This is so general. So many factors come into play.
Golden rule: Run a business that you understand and you have some background and experience in the industry.
You could be making hulahoops or helicopter. It all depends on how financially healthy you are.
If you really are serious, Y!A is not the place to ask. You should have some basic idea of what you want to do. Then if you are specific such as: "I want to run a beauty parlor in Dallas. What would you advise. how will I go about finding competition in TX - which government department has what info, What will be the initial outlay, what the local laws are, Where can I find suppliers cheap, Do any of you own a beauty parlor in TX etc..etc. etc." this will be more like we can help you with.
First it depends on what capital you have in the first place.
In my opinion the best business venture is starting up a Stationery shop. Every body is going be your customer in one way or the other. Please contact me for the write up if you are really serious.
hi. i just start my own company so your Q kind of cross my mind. i would be in the marketing / communication business as no business can do without at least some form of marketing work. another areas is in product distribution / wholesales. you get to sell in volume and develop chains of retailer under you, and little contact with the end consumers. hope this help.
