I have some artwork in a shop on a 10% commission basis, they are in receivership, how do I get my things back
I walked past the shop my wall hangings are in and it was closed with a notice from the official receiver on the door, as my things are not their stock how can I get them back?
Answers:
Telephone the receiver company and arrange to meet with a representative. Hopefully, there was a contract signed somewhere that states that your wall hangings are not their stock. If you have a copy, produce it at the meeting. With any luck, you should be able to get them back.
Write to the receiver ASAP and explian the situation. Send it recorded delivery. Make sure you keep a copy of your letter.
You need proof that you are the owner of your property.
If you don't have it in writing in a way which is 100% irrefutable, the liquidators will refuse to give your property back to you and will sell it.
Good luck. It's not easy dealing with these people.

You will need to contact the receivers immediately and advise them that the shop was holding your property. The sooner the better as, eventually, they will dispose of the assets to pay debtors. Presuming you obtained a receipt when you handed the items over, that should be sufficient otherwise you may have to prove that you owned them. Unfortunately, taking them back without going thru the receiver would be illegal.
Good luck
Get in touch with the reciever quickly, from the address on the notice, and explain they were being sold on commission only, and put in a claim for any unpaid commission.
