My friend in Boston has stupidly added to and passed on an email that a member of staff has been offended?
He has a UK employment contract. Clearly he was stupid do do this, especially as a senior manager. There was nothing racist or sexist, thankfully.
Is he subject to US or UK employment law? Could he be dismissed?
Answers:

US if he is working here. If it is not sexual, he will most likely just get written up or counseled.
I did that too, it was so embrassing, but I didn't get in trouble.
Sounds like both countries employment law can be used here.
If it is not discriminatory in any way - why is the other person insulted?
I think most companies in the UK and US have rules for emailing and misuse of computers written into their contracts. So it is unlikely to matter which countries employment law rules if it is a matter of breaching his contract or terms of employment!
