I'm applying for GAP and i want to know the what a Loss Prevention Associate is.

A fancy name for store security guard really, either plain clothes or uniformed. You might work on the shop floor or, in a larger store, there may be a security office where you can monitor what's going on. You might be looking out for customer and staff thefts.the latter are suprisingly common.

They are just a safety net when u start up your own business thats all-- looking out for you, they are invaluable and keep you up-to-date its a bit like anti-virus software on your pc
Probably someone who deals w/ loss prevention and keeps track of inventory of the store or business versus how many of those items are "lost" (stolen, usually). Hope I helped! :)
