How can I find out who I owe money to?
My debts have been passed on to an agency, I need to find out who so I can pay them, any ideas?
Answers:
Phone the people you originally had the debt with, they *have* to tell you who your debt now resides with.
As soon as you get that information, call them and offer to make a monthly payment of as much as you can.
Many debts are passed to solicitors, many to general debt collectors. Get in before they contact you, it makes a better impression and they're more likely to accept a low amount per month rather than demand instant payment or bye bye tv, computer, etc.
Don't worry they will contact you, just save up as hard as you can and pay if off as soon as you can
Call the company that you owed. They can tell you who they turned it over to and give you the phone number.
you should recieve some sort of letter stating who you owe it too!
aren't you getting any letters in the mail from the collection agencies?
Get you own credit report ,so that you know where you stand
the agency will be in touch with you for you to make arrangements with them to start and pay these debts off
The agency's should be listed on your credit report, at the bottom of the report there should be contact info for all the creditors.
most cities have a collection agency that holds records of the companies that are owed and how much they are owed. Check for your local agency.
You can also find a free credit report. This will have all information about you - current job, last job, residence, outstanding balances, companies owed.
To resolve the issue as quickly as possible, do an on line credit report. It will tell you immediately of any charge offs or other outstanding debts.

You owe me a thousand bucks. When can I expect it?
Dont worry too much, they will soon be in contact with you to get their money. In the mean time - if you have the money sitting there, keep it so you can pay them when they start yelling.
I am tempted to tell you to go out on the piss and enjoy it, but it will only come and bite you on the a*rse!! And it would be totally wrong to encourage such behaviour!
Oh yeah - dont forget to open your mail so you know when they are yelling - always a weak point of mine!
Get a copy of your credit information. Then you can see who you owe money to. Then call them up and negotiate a settlement. They usually make you pay only like 60% to 75% of your bill. It works for me! If it's too much then just complain and say you can't pay that much. They usually want something instead of nothing.
Good Luck!
you will know very very soon i have no doubt
Don't pay, they'll soon get in contact with you.
Check the Experien.co.uk website-you need to send a cheque for £2.00 (I think) and details of your addresses for the last six years. They will run a credit check and send you a report, which will tell you how much you owe and who to. If you're still unsure, just sit back and wait, I'm sure whoever it is will find you! They're clever like that.
YOU MUST BE IN A STATE IF YOU CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER WHO YOU OWE MONEY TOO..
Usually, the agency should contact you. Otherwise, the owner of the debt who passed it on to the agency should be able to tell you who they've passed the debt on to.
