Any ideas on how to throw an awards ceremony for a quarterly business dinner?
Every quarter we invite the best salespeople for dinner and try to make it fun. Any ideas on how to make it fun and business appropriate?
Answers:
watch "The Dundies". It is an episode of The Office in which the manager holds a awards ceremony for his employees
few suggestions:
hire a good DJ and some gogo dancers, good food, set up some poker tables, n some prize of course.
you could arrange for one of the many companies who arrange corporate nights to kit out the venue you choose as a casino and as a company offer a cash reward in the winners name to be given to there favourite charity it lookes good and as a comp you can claim tax relief on your donation
Have a raffled for a nice prize, maybe donated by a vendor. It doesn't always have to be something tangible. A weekend stay in a nice hotel, free car rental, free massage, etc. A good quarterly should include the entire company's achievement along with individual achievements. I would focus on team effort. Maybe a buffet dinner. Usually it's major hit because people can choose their food. I would make every quater a theme dinner with an ice breaker execise. If your area sales people are anything like ours, sales positions are always revolving. Having an ice breaker where people get to tell everyone a little about themselves is a good one. One ice breaker at my job was about favorite holiday foods/beverages. Of course, this was a hit because I work mostly with women. Maybe a good way to shake it up is to include a couple of token people who may not be the top sellers but are recognized by their peers for doing something extraordinary. We have staff recognition cards where you can recognize someone based on any one of seven core values. This may keep moral up among those who aren't the top sellers, but are trying hard to get there and bring more to the work place other than the incentive to make money. I hope you guys have fun!
