Anyone out there, who works 4 day's on 4 day's off,?
whats the good, or bad points of this shift.

I used to work 4 ten hour days and have 3 days off, but that was in a week with seven days in it>
my friend works 6 on 6 off, whats good you get 18 holidays by only using 6!
4 days off also gives you more time to do hobbies and its like working half a year.
I use to work a shift like that. I loved it!
When you took off for vacation, I wouldn't have to use as many days off to get the most of it.
I had 4 days off in a row instead of two, like saturday and Sunday. Able to do more things I think. Get the work done in a shorter amount of days and then have time do what you want.
On the other hand, you have to work weekends and what not, and its not the same days off as well. So that can be a bummer.
But I enjoyed working that shift! I also did the Mon-Thurs night shift where I got Fri, Sat and Sun off, that was an awesome shift. Leave work at 7am, and go to school, then head home and sleep wake up eat do some chores and go to work again. It was awesome
4X4 shifts are wonderful. More time to do things I think.! You can shop during the week and theres barely anyone there b/c everyone else is working. But at the same time, friends might have another schedule too, so you have to plan on when you hang out w/ them b/c they have to wake up early in the morning when you dont have to.
i used to work 4 days on 4 off, 12 hour shifts - which is a bloody long day, and to say i hated it was an understatement, nothing worse than getting up for a 12 hour shift sunday morning in the summer when everyone is out with their family, and whats the point of having 4 days of in the week, everyone is at work.
i ended up doing housework that my wife left for me, decorating and stuff like that, it seemed that i was either at work, doing chores or asleep.
in the end it cost me my marriage as well, which thinking about it was the only best point.
I work 7 days on, 2 off, 7 on, 5 off and it's great. I can go shopping (both food and clothes) when everywhere is quiet. I can spend time with my family and go out when everywhere is quiet. The only bad point in my job is that I can't work permanent earlies!
