Answers:
yes you can- even with the same bank.
yes you can I did the same, go to halifax there real easy to get with
Online banking -- cahoot, smile etc. Check it out. Better interest rates and you don't have to deposit every month
Yes, no problem I have three separate accounts.
Yes I got 4.all empty!
yes.
Of course I have 2 accounts, at one point i had 3
you can open as many bank accounts as you want.the only limitation is money to deposit.;)
Yes you can have two accounts. Maybe the bankk is suspicious as to why you want two accounts
I would keep them both and just explain why you want them
If they still harass you maybe consider moving both accounts to a new bank
yes open an account with a different bank
I used to have several with a major bank then their service just went down hill, so I changed banks
i have two accounts..no poblem
You can have as many accounts as you like so long as you're not using them fraudulently. The only reason one of the banks wanted you to close the other account was so that THEY'D get all your business!
Not a problem. If this bank doesn't want your money, there are lots of others that do. I have 3 accounts at one bank, and another online. Your other accounts are none of their business!
I have two accounts with the same bank - Yorkshire
Yes you can just dont transfer your other direct debits etc they are assuming you are transferring accounts. Why do you need another account you can use pay pal to pay with and its safer
Of course you can. If your existing bank is not prepared to cooperate tell them to close your account and transfer to another bank. I would also write to their head office and make a very strong complaint about your branch.
I have a bank account in two seperate banks. This might be simpler??
choose a different bank
Hi,i am with 2 seperate banks one wages go into the other one we put cheques etc into.Just go to a bank & open account.
Yes.

Sounds like a bank being unreasonable. I have my own account; a joint account for household bills; a building society current account (with only£5 in it) - purely as a carpet bagger!

Try Nationwide - been excellent!

Note, as an aside, that having a few accounts would not matter- but I understand that having "100s" could impact your credit rating as you become a higher risk of having multiple overdrafts amounting to a significant amount of debt. This is definitely true of credit cards
If your bank won't allow you do to that, find another bank! There's no legal prohibition though some banks restrict the number of accounts for anti-fraud purposes.
yes u can but make sure that you use both of them. I had an account with BOA and WaMu. BOA was my primary account for my daily bills, my direct deposit, etc.WaMu was just a second account that i just would deposit in to once a month for my emergency money. WaMu closed my account after like a year saying that i wasn't using my account enough (not making them any money)!
you can open as many as you have money for . Keep them active and there is generally no charge at least in the states
absolutely, always best to have more than one account anyway, just in case something goes wrong with one of them
Just open your new account with a different bank
as many as you like providing it's not for fraudulence purposes.
The short answer is "Yes"
It is possible yes. You can have how many bank current accounts you want so long as you run them ok
you can have as many accounts as you want, the UK is a democracyafter all!!
