I am thinking of offering my staff moitivational therapy to increase profitabilty do you think it works?
I have found a couple of companies offering this but not sure if it will work. Has anyone tried it?

the best motivational therapy is rewards.. i used to work for Coca Cola, and they run a competition every year to find the best vending merchandisers from all over the UK, the best two from each depot got to go on an adventure weekend, stayed at a gorgeous hotel and we had a great time. You could try something on a smaller scale if your business is smaller.It was so good it was the talk of the depot for the whole year, and motivated the staff to want to be on next years outing.
It's my feeling you cannot teach motivation. You can only provide an atmosphere for the truly motivated to succeed. That is what they taught us In a business class in college and that has stuck with me.
Therapy? NO.
The best way to motivate your staff is to remember they are PEOPLE not machines. Talk to them and use their names LISTEN to them and treat them as equals. Give praise and reward good work, THANK THEM for thier work daily. Let them know they are wanted and cared about. When they ask for help, give it. Be sensitive to family needs (if schools close let the parents stay home and work the time back). Pay well, and remind staff that the company is paying them but expects work for the money.
remember that you are a person too and if you treat people with respect they will (mostly) do the same for you.

Many managers came and went, some straight from university and full of enthusiasm, but no idea how to treat subordinates. It is more difficult to motivate in a larger company, there tends to be a "them and us" mentality. Some staff are motivate-able, others are there to get the money for minimum effort. If your business is small enough for you to have regular contact with individuals, then you have the opportunity to bring the best out of them, but don't push too hard, and get some input from them.
NO THERAPY! Take the money you are planing to spend on therapy and offer bonuses. Prize will depend on your area; ball tickets to top seller, $100 to top seller, you get the Idea.Maybe offer a day off with pay. Decide this yourself or tell your crew what your plans are and get reward suggestions from everyone! To motivate means to PROVIDE WITH INCENTIVE. You provide the incentive! They will provide the profits! NOT therapy.would be a waste of money and time. Good Luck with this!
