Why does it cost £142 an hour when I take my BMW in for some work to be done on it?
Answers:
because they know they can make you afford it. Why else would you have the car..
its a rip off.
because they know you and nobody else can do it so they can set any price they want
It's called dumb rich guy tax.
Because having a Beemer makes ppl think you're rolling in it !!
because youve got a BMW. If you use a main dealer, its gonna cost that im afraid.
its the same with all prestige cars.
If u use an independant garage it will be much cheaper.
All garags are out to rip you off, The more flashy the garage the more they rip you off!
They charge so much because of all the overheads, Labour, electricity, wages etc. The motor trade has always charged over the norm and always will. If you can do the work yourself then do it. It is easy to service your car yourself. Or you can buy a cheaper car to run.
because they charge a ridiculous amount for labour
Hi,
Dude, I can safely say. you're being conned big time!!
Cheers!!
seen you coming
because its the ultimate machine, and an ultimate automobile
For many manufacturers the technology used means less servicing is needed. As a result this means less work for the service dealerships.
Some of the big makes like BMW and Mercedes have already reduced the number of service dealerships. But also the prices for servicing have gone up, not only labour rates but parts too. You will even find clever tactics like saying this or that part 9e.g. spark plugs) are no longer included in the standard service price.
All in all, i think its conning the consumer. The reality is though that service dealerships have to make money to stay in business - but they are currently making too much money!
If your car is more than 3 years old (out of warranty) I would take it to a garage that specialised in BMW - there not approved but then they charge 'normal' prices. Your should find overall costs 40-50% lower.
I hope this helps
Good luck
