A friend of mine is in debt, abot £25000?

He has no assets, like property, car, ect, he has no place of his own to live, all he has is what is in his suitcase, clothes and things, he has been ignoring the letters and contact made the credit card and loan companys he ows money to. What might happen if he continues to ignore them, will he go to prison, and how can he rid this debt and situation he`s in, he got into debt, and cant pay it back. what can he do to help himself.
