I need help on writting a resume!?
im about to apply for my first job at a local radio station. problem is, i know point blank about writting a resume! plus, i have no work experience. what should i write? aside from name, age, sex, address, email, contact number, and the usuals?
Answers:
First off you DON'T put your age or gender on a resume!
Start off with your name, address, phone & email.
Since you don't have experience you will need to show them why they should consider hiring you.
In a short paragraph tell them what type of job you are looking for.
If you have training or have taken courses that relate to broadcasting put it in.
If you have a worked at all anywhere, and left on good grounds put it in. A good work record is always respected, even if it was only Burger King for a year.
Tell them your strengths, are you a good leader, do you follow instructions, are you willing to work long hours..
Most of all use the K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) method. It should be no more than one page and easy to read.

1- your objective: at the head of the resume stating what you are aiming at (so that the interviewer or the one who will assess your resume will feel that you are ambitious and you know what you want) the objective is usually:
A challenging position at a reputable company to earn a remarkable experience and develop my skills.
2- your social interests: at the bottom of the resume. this would give the interviewer an idea that you are not a silly shallow person who does nothing in life but hanging out with friends.
3- try to attach a cover letter to the resume with information about your skills: like fast learner, strong personality, love to work with others, sociable, practical, punctual.. and you can mention that you don't have an experience yet and you are willing to learn..
4- use a different kind of paper or paper with color other than white, it would draw attention to your resume.
