Find out the law in your area.

You may be entitled to relocation benefits from your landlord and the immediate return of your security deposit.
Not sure but I think if they give you long enough then they are able to do this. You poor thing. If your still not happy with this go to citizens advise they will tell you where you stand with the law. If your tenancy still runs for a long time then I think you are by law aloud to stay there until you tenancy is up. All the best babe.Things will get better.
I guess in England provided the landlord/ new owner gave you an approriate length of time (i.e your notice period) before demolishing the building, he is in the right I'm afraid. However if he gave you a letter with 3 days notice that is not right, so seek legal advice.
I don't know about US law, but in the UK, the landlord normally has to give you 2 months notice to quit.
he has to give you a reasonable amount of notice before he can get you out of the premises. if he is being unreasonable then seek legal advice. I dont know your ruling in CA, it may be different to the uk, and most probably is.
get in touch with your local housing with the letter, you have a good chance for rehousing
