How long must i be alcohol free before i go for a dvla medical to regain my driving licence?

Answers:
They do a liver function test now, so if you have a 'drink problem' it will show!

Sorry I can't offer any helpful hints - but it is THEIR way of keeping possible re-offenders off the road.

Course, even as a first timer you'll STILL encounter this legislation - and you'll have to take time off work to go for the medical, travel to wherever THEY decide it's gonna be, subject yourself to blood tests etc. AND PAY FOR EVERYTHING! and STILL with no guarantee that your licence will be reinstated.. it all makes me soooo p*ssed off!!

I don't drive, but I know about this through others..
At least 12 months
If you have a problem with alcohol try not drinking anymore ever again!
6 years,lol

From now to 4ever if you really want to Enjoy your ride
everyday.
until its out of your system
I took someone that was drinking the previous evening and he was given his licence back, to my disapproval and amazement.
they are not really looking for alcohol they are looking to see what blood cells excessive drinking has killed off
