Survey- what uses more petrol/fuel?
Answers:
Starting an engine from cold is quite heavy on fuel consumption. Starting a hot car is much easier on fuel.
Stopping your engine is the better option as long as your engine is hot.
I'd say that leaving it run uses more fuel. One of the ways that hybrids save fuel is to turn off the engine everytime you stop, then start it up again when you are ready to go.
I don't know for sure, but I would guess leaving the engine running (even for just that minute) would use more fuel. I wouldn't have thought producing a spark for ignition uses much fuel, especially if you have fuel injection and don't have to turn the engine more than once.
its more cost effective to leave the engine running !
i am of the opinion that leaving it running is better seriously when we start our cars the fuel pump surges a dose of fuel into your carb or injection unit to recieve that spark so by rights once car is running if in tuned and serviced condition you would be better to leave it run although if it is a newr car these are designed to save fuel on start i hope this helps thanx
Hellooooooo.
Car running.uses fuel.
Car not running.uses no fuel.
Rocket scientists need not apply here
engine running uses more fuel ,starting a car does not use any extra fuel
depends on how your fuel economy is, just switch it off. You shouldnt be leaving your engine running anyway
