Skoda Fabia or Renault Clio?
Answers:
Well, the first reaction is - don't buy either new because you'll lose a packet. The answer lies in - do you like french flair or german efficiency? The Skoda is effectively a Polo in disguise and Skoda use the latest VW technology to test the car before it comes out as a Polo. The interior is a bit drab (I reckon on purpose so you'll go for the Polo) but the reliability of the car is top notch. The Clio is, no doubt about it, a great car but in the long term the Skoda will hold its value better and will prove more economical to run if depreciation and reliability are factored into the equation.
Fo me there is no doubt, boring fellah that I am, that there will be more miles and less worries in a Skoda. The badge problems are behind us now and people know that you reckognise value in a car when you see it. Go for the Skoda, especially if it is a diesel.
How Bout A Flabio. Cut Them In half And Weld Them Together.
Renault would'nt be the most reliable, Skoda have improved a lot in quality and performance.
I'd go skoda.
They both get good reviews. The Skoda Fabia might be better value.
I have a clio and would only change it for another clio. Easy to drive small enough for rthe city but large enough for long journeys. Comfortable and nice to look at.
definately the clio.
Skoda if you live with the badge!
ive got a clio and its the best car ive had. reliable, fab on diesel, a very nippy car. am selling it now if your interested?? reason being baby just come into family and not got any money for crimbo cos of maternity pay, wouldn't be selling otherwise!
Renault is french make (not too good or solid)
skoda now are German build, more solid then french and better value
If your talking about a new car it probably doesn't make much difference. However, if a used car, go for the Scoda as it's less likely to be abused and you will be able to get a low mileage car in very good condition
I would,nt buy either of them new. They are both known for fast depreciation although, if you have set your heart on a new car, the skoda will not depreciate as much as the clio. The Fabia range is basically a slightly larger VW Polo. The RS TDI is a cracker, it gave the Mini Cooper a bloody nose on a head to head on Top Gear recently. The base models are basic, but functional and you should have no cause for concern. Skoda dealers also offer one of the best after sales/warranty services about. I have found that Renaults build quality is hit and miss. Rattling interior trim, iffy electrics and they seem to have a catalogue of silly faults when they hit the 70k to 80k mark. My choice would be the Fabia by a mile. Good Luck.
