Tachograph exploitation.?
Answers:
Tell him that you have been stopped and fined by the Police..its £30.
And that they also said if he or any other employee from the company is stopped again they will conduct an inspection of the charts in the premisis. He has to maintain the records for 2 years..and i bet he doesnt.
don't think of losing your job think of losing your life and probity those of other people, fill in the disc as required if your boss tells you other wise report this to the minister of transport, if you were to have an accident the chance's of getting away with putting your tachograph to rest while at a drop would not help in a summons, you could be fined, imprisoned, and your employer as well ,so everyone would lose out
You can only legally switch your Tacho to other work when you are dropping off items - if you get caught by Police or worse VOSA you would receive fines in excess of £1000 for working hours offences and if you said your employer was forcing you to he would most likely lose his operators licence and get fined alot more too.
Unfortunately it is your legal responsibility to ensure you are within your driving hours but it sounds like it may be worth finding someone else to deliver for - there are so many delivery jobs going in most areas of the UK at the mo that its isn't worth risking your vocational licence over this employer.
Recently Stobarts were strung up for Tacho offences and were taken to the cleaners by VOSA.
Don't risk it.
You can shop your employer anonymously and he will be investigated. You are also breaking the law so you should get another job. If you are killed or kill someone else by being overtired then!"£$%^&*(\\\, there are plenty of transport firms out there looking for drivers.
