Can someone please help me?
Is there anyone out there who has a rover, and had the same/similar problem?
My workshop manual doesn't cover the immobilizer aspect,i've even bought a cd,to try and fix the problem, but i can't seem to find anything on that.

my mate dave could help
well it sounds like the immobilizer has kicked off.
I would either remove it all together if it is not factory. If it is an after market call them up. Tell them you have broken down and it wont disengage. they should have a 24 hour number.
if its factory you will need to wait till monday and probably have the car towed to rover. they will cover the expense, but call them in advance to clarify!
your f****d
call out aa or rac whichever you are in, they will sort it out 4 you. had it done on my bmw.
Do not have a Rover but i would say go back to the people how sorted it in November 2005 (might be under warranty). Or call a Rover Dealership near you or where ever you purchased the car and complain about the reoccurring problem and see it their workshop can help, kick up a stink and tell them you will escalate the issue if not solved a.s.a.p. Tell them you will be informing as may people as you can to not buy Rover cars if the problem is not fixed - it sometimes gets a result, get all the names from the people you speak to and if they are not helpful say you will by including them by name in any complaint letter you send to the company. Remember the squeaky wheel gets oiled. Good luck.
