Need Help desperately - Car Problems - Serious Answers Only Please?

Was told today that I need to replace the engine in my car. I have a 1998 Ford Fiesta Zetec and it would cost me about £500/£600. He is a friend of the family and he advised me that I should just part ex the car and I'd get about £600 for it in it's current state. I'm really unhappy as this is my first car and I've already had a new exhaust, back box, clutch and headlights. I am unsure what to do now, I really want a new car but have no savings and really bad credit. What would be the best thing for me to do - buy a new engine or part ex it and try and get a car on finance, if I do get finance where should I go based on the fact I have a poor credit history.

hi there
it all depends on weather the rest of the car is any good and does it have any sentimental value to you.
if you have already spent a lot of money on it is it worth spending that much money on it.
if you get a new car on finance you will pay alot of interest personally i would put another engine in it and run it keep it serviced reguarly.
hope this is of help to you
Get your car fixed. It should still have some good miles on it.
well your going to have to find money to either get it fixed or buy a new one.i would sell and maybe go to a car auction.i,ve had some really good bargains in the past from them.
i had to replace the engine in my car.and its still a piece of shitt..your gonna have to keep fixing it untill it completely dies, cuz thats what i've been doin with my car for the past 6 months. I bought it for $2,000 and i've put in about $5,000 fixing it.i dont have any money saved either and i have terrible credit, but if you finance a car they will give it to you with bad credit, your intrest rate will just be higher. I'd advise selling it, or trading it in and gettin a new one before you make the mistake i did by fixin it over and over again.
Get rid of it immediately, and if you have bad credit you'll be forced to deal with people like yes car credit (do a search and you'll find them easily enough) they will finance anyone but you'll pay high APR's unfortunately.
i think you should get a second decision it dose not mater if he is a Friend of the family
