I am a learner driver and have just bought a car what insurance do i need to enable me to go out in it?

Answers:
You can't.

You need to insure it under a drivers name, with you named on the policy.
go to geico.com
www.norwichunion.com
let me know which way your going.

I will go the other way.
But I recomend having a word with Norwich Union they will stitch you up like the rest
If you are a minor a lot of states require that you go under your parents policy, all drivers in the household must be listed on all cars. If there is no loan you are not usually required to have fire/theft/collision. Where you are a fairly new driver I would make sure you have good personal injury and damage to others property to cover yourself.
You can not. You must be a licensed driver. Not a learner driver.
Do a search on the net for car insurance, and find the one that is suitable for you and your car. AXA was the cheapest for us this year.
if you have a lerners permit you are suppose to driving with licenses driver in the car with you first of all, and get the insurance the state requires you to get like some states you have to get no fault insurance. call a few insurance and see what your state requires.
do you homework check and compare prices
You need to ask the insurance company, but beware you will pay a high premium, and, of course, you can't go out in it without a qualified driver sat with you. You will almost certainly only be able to afford third party, fire and theft as the way you are asking this question I would assume you are under 25.
lalalalalala
ok..from wht i know, it goes like this. Learners permit, u dont need insurance. Level 1 License, yes u need insurance. Level 2 (full license) , u also need insurance.

but thats here in north carolina. good luck though
You cant you'd have to insure it under someone elses name who has held a full licence for more than three years and they have to be with you when your driving it. You should also have L plates on it. I recommend AA for the cheapest Insurance for when you pass.
Try:
http://www.directline.com/

Very important where it says: "Type of licence" you put Provisional" because you are a learner

Don'ty expect any cheap quotes mind.
go to a local insurance company or try AAA their insurance is not that expensive plus if you are a member the give you a discount on your policy
you need insurance to take a car on the road, it will be mot and taxed i assume, i suggest you get fully comprehensive insurance, it will be expensive but it will cover all your needs. i suggest you phone around for the best deal, and please do not forget to put your l plates on your car and have someone who holds a full driving licence for that 5 years to sit with while you out on the road
In the UK, you just take out a policy, but make sure you tell them your only a provisional driver.
To clarify, if you are in the UK as a learner driver (with a Provisional licence), you will need insurance to drive the car. This can be either Third Party or Fully Comphrensive. Depending on your age and the age/type of car you own, Fully Comp could be quite expensive. If the car you are driving is under £1000 I would recommend 3rd Party.

To be able to drive your car you must be supervised by a driver over 21 years of age who has held a licence for at least three years. The person supervising you does not need to be insured, as long as the car you are driving is taxed and insured, all is well.

Also you must display 'L' plates.

It is best to go online to look at qoutes for insurance, places like Confused.com and Comparethe market.com are great for checking lots of different companies by only entering your details once.

You may find (as I did), that as a holder of a Provisional Licence you will generally get a better quote than you would as a Full Licence holder. This, is generally because as a 'new' full licence holder you are free to drive by yourself and may not be as safe, and as comfortable a driver as you would be with someone experienced sitting next to you.
(Slightly off topic but.. If you take a course such as Pass Plus after passing your test you will find the insurance goes down even more, possibly up to a third cheaper. BUT, be aware, not all insurance companies recognise it).

So, as long as you have minimum of Third party insurance & someone who has had a licence for 3 years or more, and is older than 21 sitting next to you, you will be fine
In the UK you can insure a car with a provissional licence.

A lot of insurance companies though may recommend or insist that you also provide details of someone else who can/will drive the car who has a full driving licence. This is just to ensure that, in any eventuality, there is always someone legally allowed to drive your car.

Why don't you contact our Insurance Head Office on 01420 82501 to discuss your requirements in more detail. We find insurance for a lot of learner drivers.
