or a VW golf 2.0 TDI 4-motion, reliable, sporty, great handling (4 wheel drive)
the rx-8 has rubbish fuel economy, the engine will need a rebuild after 60000 miles, drinks oil like a fat man drinks lager.
you won't get a porche new for that money, maybe a second hand boxter, but unless you're a hairdresser, don't!!, or a mid 80's 911 turbo with the whaletail spoiler, expensive.
the lexus is a really nice, stylish, efficient, economical (diesel) car, if no one had mentioned it, it'd be my choice

Subaru Impreza STI, they have a fantastic safety and reliability record, are great fun to drive, keep their price pretty well for re-sale value, big enough for a family with kids and they look damn good.
Wouldnt buy a car at that price when expensive cars are fast and you cant legally go above 70mph in the UK. Just buy a cheaper car that wont cos much on repairing if it goes wrong!! Rest of the money go on holiday!!

mazda RX8 cos its quick
honda s2000...they are fast, look great and they're a convertible. personally i think out of all the fast/show off cars (Nissan 350z, BMW, suburu, etc), this is the nicest and most girly.
