Vauxhall astra and front brakes locking on?

Has anyone any experience of a vauxhall astras front breaks locking up. Basically when I am driving the front brake suddenly decides to "close" This normally only happens on the drivers side. I am able to drive but the brake is on so the wheel struggles to go round (it does not fully lock up or else I would not be able to drive). It only happens when I am in town traffic (perhaps as a result of putting brakes on and off often). The brake fluid is full to where it should be. Any advice?

Answers:
could be worn pads, or discs. Could be seized calliper/piston. Although the break fluid is topped up may have a low boiling point caused by water/moisture entering the lines but that would cause a spongy brake pedal. My advise would be to get it checked out asap, dodgy brakes is serious and they may fail when you need them the most.
This could be your ABS system get it checked out straight away this controls the braking system on the car all round
Your car is the equivalent of the Saturn Ion, Chevy cobalt/cavalier. You don't want to mess around with brakes. Sounds like front callipers sticking or seizing. Get it checked ASAP.
Get it booked in and checked. Do not take chances with brakes - they could save your life one day.
I think your best bet would be to see a certified trustable mechanic, I hope they can help you out. good luck!!
The calliper pistons are seizing up, they will need to be removed and cleaned up and refitted. You may also need to replace the pads as they may be worn down unevenly due to the pistons sticking on. If the pistons are badly pitted the whole calliper Assembly will need to be replaced. This is quite a common fault on the Astra, especially if it has been parked up for a while. Not a big job but can get expensive if calliper assembly is required.
you have pistons on your clappers which push your pads out when you break it sounds like they may be sticking i hope this will help
Your caliper is sticking..anyone with an inkling of mechanical know how can work it free , get a friend to help if your not sure , but don't spray anything like wd40 or grease near your brake disk or pads! Try some brake cleaning aerosol.
definitely definitely 100% sure its the calliper's seizing, such a common problem with that car,
rubber seals around the pistons wear and lets in water which in turn rusts the pistons causing it to stick.
Easy to repair if you understand cars or else have a mechanic do it for sure.
it could be the caliper sticking or possibly the master cylinder
