Are there any airlines currently recruiting for pilot sponsorship?
Answers:
It depends on your age. Most airlines will only sponsor very young people. Look on their websites for further info. A BA captain can get paid as much as £100K so it is a lucrative job! Alternatively, learn by yourself with a good school, become a flying instructor and build your hours. You will then be able to apply for jobs.
NOOO, dont bother.
Its a mugs game and you don't get paid a lot.
If you clever enough to pass the course, you'll be bored in the job. Many aircraft protocols have steps in them just to stop the pilots gettting bored.what sort of a life is that ?
British Midland have a decent school so its worth writing to them.
Personally, you're better off sticking with your PPL or getting into private charter on short-hop props withoyur own plane
i think you need a degree in sciences before they consider you for pilot sponsorship. and then selection and then training and licensing
No airlines are running any full sponsorship schemes - a few have part-sponsorship schemes in place (Britannia / Easyjet), but the level of competition is exceptionally high. In addition, even successful applicants who manage to pass the training will still be saddled with tens of thousands of pounds to pay back on starting salaries that are far from impressive.
Unfortunately for you (and for myself having tried this route..), the only options to you other than that are to either apply for a flying branch of the armed services, or fork out a mortgage sized loan to pay for your own training - and even then there is no guarantee of a job for you afterwards.
Very interesting job, I have a friend who is an air traffic controller. Most pilots these days are either recruited from the airforce or from abroad.
Have you considered joining the air force you will receive all the training and experience you need and it is a big foot in the door. Most firms will not invest money in training just anybody.
Pilots are not as well paid as they used to be as most uk firms can use foreign pilots, some are very cheap.
