Why when I indicate to turn left in my Peugeot 106 does the indicator tick erratically and doesn't work?
Answers:
Change the bulb with a new one to see if that fixes it. Some bulbs can have a wire that is broken with just a tiny little crack in the filament. Sometimes the electricity can jump the gap and other times not. The filament will wiggle when you hit bumps so that sometimes it is further away from the broken end. That would explain why it works sometimes.
One other possibility is a bad ground connection, maybe at the bulb. When you replace the bulb carefully examine the contacts for corrosion or dirt. If bad, use a tool of some sort to clean the contacts and apply a lightweight grease to prevent further corrosion.
Also, check that there are not damaged wires in the trunk area. A friend of mine had a bowling ball break the ground wire off inside his trunk when he swerved to miss another car.
Check your left bulb it may need replacing.
you've got a bulb out on the left hand side check front back and side repeater.
you need to replace the bulb
take it back to where you bought it, have you got warranty on it? Otherwise, tell your passenger to stick their hand out of the window when you want to turn left!
Sounds like the bulb has gone. it can be quite tricky to replace unless you have small hands. Take it to Jalfords and they'll do it!
I agree with everyone else, it is ticking madly because one of the bulbs has blown. Check your front and rear left indicator bulbs. You can buy replacements in Halfords or any car shop. You can do it yourself but it can be quite tricky!
bulb is goosed
the fuse or the bulb has gone
its a m.o.t fail so get it fixed
If the Indicator tick is more rapid than usual, you have a bulb out. However, if it ticks erratically, you may have a bad connection in the wiring.
Check the bulbs first, if they are ok, then check the connections in the wiring (potentially much harder job than changing the bulbs).
This is usually down to a poor earth contact. You need to follow the wires from the light unit to where one of them is bolted to the car bodywork. Undo the nut holding the wire connector and clean it with some abrasive paper. Also clean the point on the body that the connector faces to. Repalce the connector and nuts and you should be OK
front or rear bulb burned out on left side outside
