What's the best estate car on the market?

First child on way and we have a dog, so need a bigger car. We're hopeless so need advice and not a pushy salesman!

Answers:
If you don't need a large estate, then a used Astra or Vectra is probably the best-value. The Focus is a nicer car to drive, but holds its value better so will be more expensive to buy. For more space (say 3 kids and 2 dogs) the Mondeo estate is huge in all directions, good to drive, reliable and plentiful.

If money is no object, the Volvo V70, Audi A6 or (latest revised model) Mercedes-Benz E-Class are all worth a look.
Any Volvo..V40 is great ! They run forever, are very safe and are quick too !!! Especially if you get a T4
Audi rs4 Est if you have the money
Pug 407 Est
Ford Focus est for budget
Can't beat the big Volvo estates for load carrying capacity, reliability and safety. The 850 / V70 are actually good looking cars.
My local radio station voted them the best passion wagons due to the space but with a child on the way I guess you don't need my advice there.
i have to agree, Volvo. ive had my one 4yrs now. built like a tank, 175BHP, 2.4 straight 6 TDi. does 40mpg, at 80mph. and cost me 300 quid. oh, and its 19 years old.

weve got 2 kids and 4 lurchers, and i throw all my welding kit in tha back as required. oh, and my insurace is due.£ 237 fully comp..
My mum has a Renault Megane Estate and it looks really funky, not boring like some cars, and the Laguna estate she had before that looks lovely-nicer than the saloon. It depends on how big your dog is really. My friend says the best car she had was a citroen Picasso-she's had a landrover freelander and a toyota corolla verso since then (she has 2 kids & a dog) Good luck and Congratulations for your baby! :) xxx
Mitsubishi Galant 2.5 V6 24V or VR4, Very fast estate car and very rare!, not one of the more common estates.
Have a look at a Skoda

Stop Laughing !

I've had four now, and if you're looking for a good car on a budget, it's worth a look - remember this is essentially a Volkswagen for much less money.

The sales men aren't pushy - they don't have to be - the cars sell themselves.

I have an Octavia 1.9Tdi which doesn' break the bank when it comes top running costs

It's pretty pokey as well - see the expressions on the faces of 'Premium' badge drivers when you wipe the floor with them..

Go see..
