His tests went well and although he was driving a rev-limited V10 he beat several regular drivers with the same set up. Rossi finally decided to stay with MotoGP as he feels that he enjoys them more as the rider is in control of how the race pans out. He felt F1 races were more in control of the team principle who decided what tactics/pitstops were to be done as opposed to just driver talent. This is why he also loves rallying, it's all in the driver.
He tried the thing with Ferrari but complained that the people in the pit lane weren't friendly with him so he knocked the idea on the head. Its not suprising really - if it was the other way round I'm sure it would have gone down equally poorly
He drove one about a year ago just as a public event thing. They were extremely surprised at how well he adapted to the car without any formal training. He was considered a natural with anything that has an engine.
However, he would have to really train as a driver for a long time before he'd be ready to compete in the pro circuit.
Although I think it would be interesting to see Ferarri sponser him and train him to drive their cars, I doubt it will happen any time soon.
He will continue to dominate the bike races for many years to come.

No if you read his book he tested with 'em but had no intention of driving with 'em. If anything he'll go rallying first.(how the hell do you spell rallying correctly)?
