Hi, first disregard more than half of the answers that you already have. The pump is adjustable, I am not familiar with the rsx bike, but, the pump should be under one of the engine panels. There are usually two marks that are adjusted to line-up for correct pump adjustment. Also twist the throttle and make sure the pump cable is free and allowing the pump to return to start position. If adjustment method is not obvious, better check the manual, and yes, consider using the recommended oil.
If you don't know for sure, better have some one check it out that knows what they are doing

Well, it used to be that you would set the oil thing to 25 per gallon Standing on the forecourt..
Give it a squirt. One squirt per gallon.
Now it seems that you buy two-stroke oil in a tin, and pour it in according to instructions. Daft.
I recommend a touch of "Redex" in the tank.
It makes the thingl smell lovely, and does the engine no harm.
Smells of sweet popcorn, and does not only the fuel system a favour, but cleans out the transfers.
I hope it is not a "Pop-Pop"
Bob.
first of all make sure you are using right oil .There are some smokeless brands of oil to use. Best to stick with what manufacture recommends
What kind of oil are you using? Some don't smoke as badly as others.

Let me give you some advice! I worked in a car dealership that took over Subaru in the 70s.Some of the first Subaru cars (Subaru 360),-imported had 2 cycle engines also (though they were buiilt "cheap as all get out", they ran pretty good). However they also had "automatic" oil mix system..a whole lot of them failed to mix oil, and so the engines were ruined. When the "fake oil shortage" in the early 70s came along, we were plagued with these cars that had been setting for 2-4 years, trying to get them running again,( because a 35-40 mpg car was pretty valueable then!!) A lot of them didn't make it because of expense (and availibility of parts by then).

If you mix fuel properly in a gas can,--- and use it as required, --then you know first of all that you are getting the oil in gas to begin with, second, - you know that the "mix" is right proportions! This might not work too well if you travel a lot and have to fill it "on the road", -I have known a couple guys that carry a 1 gallon "flatish" can (to mix gas with),-in saddlebag, and they mix it a gallon at a time in the can, - then put it in Bilke as required!, -- I would think you could just have an accurate measure for oil, -- (and carry a "calibrated stick -or rod", - which you could measure how far gas is down to make sure it will hold a gallon),-- then just put in oil, and measure exactly a gallon to get proper mix, and be on your way!
certain oils smoke more than others, this is why they recommend a good oil. unless you know how dont try to adjust or repair it. what i would recommend is you disconnect the auto oiler all together and mix your oil straight into the gas, this is just my opinion. oh and to much is better then not enough.
Better too much oil than too little. First of all spend a bit more money and buy a fully synthetic oil, like castrol TT (£10 a litre from halfords). See if this does the trick, worked for me.
Is the smoke dark? If so it could be that you're burning engine oil and your pistons/rings are on the way out.
Its a 2 stroke what do you reckon.
If its running alright leave it alone.
Give it a good run blow it thro.
Probably needs a de-coke.
The oil / fuel ratio is very important on these engines and should not be adjusted from the manufactures settings. I believe the settings are slightly different depending on whether it is restricted or unrestricted, but as it is a 2 stroke it is designed to burn far more oil than a 4 stroke and so it will smoke far more
you can adjust it on the oil pump cable loosen it and it will pump less oil also take the spark plug out and turn the engine over 4 about 20 Min's this should get rid of the access oil don't forget to clean your plug too
