Why not test drive a new Renault Clio.I got a new one yesterday and love it! Just traded my VW Polo for the Clio.should have done it earlier! I do not recommend Peugeot..not at all reliable despite it looking good! Honda and Mazda.. reliable cars but not as good looking!
Why not go for a Renault Modus. My wife bought one last year. 1.4 engine and very economic. Very compact, so easy parking in town, but on the inside it is very comfy and roomy. 5 star ranking from NCAP too!
Best cars for value and reliabilty are always German or Japanese- sorry! If you want a good car, go for either. VW Golfs and Polos are great and keep their value more than others. Good luck.
mazda 3 very nice car!
get some kind of Nissan they have a very good warranty and keep going and going and going. I bought a 9 year old Nissan and the automatic seat belt assembly messed up I took it to a Nissan Dealer, not where I bought it got it at a private lot, the cost to have it fixed would have been over $1100 the fixed it FREE because it was a safety factor. Nissan is a great company.
Fiat punto grande - 5 door but it's very small, reasonably priced and very good crash rating.
depends how much you plan on spending. i would personal go for a golf as they do something for everyone that will hold their value and be reliable. you can have anything from a 1.6 up to a 3.2 depends how quick you fancy how ever the best 1's are the gti or even though you want a petrol you really cant go far wrong with the gt tdi which still has 150bhp so definitely not sluggish.
Depends how much you wanna spend.you could get a lovely little BMW or a golf. Ladies always look really nice in both. Also you have the option of the mini cooper s..you cant go wrong with any of them all great cars with loads of road respect & hassle free driving for years..I'd say the BMW is a nice choice But the VW golf is a wicked little car. If you decide the VW i suggest you go for a turbo diesel..excellent!
Best of luck & hope you get a good deal. Dont be afraid to bargin with the dealer as they always leave room for haggling.
Take care..

I'd get a CIvic Type R. 0 to 60 in 6 seconds, outrun most BMW's and bags of fun. You can pick one up 2nd hand for about 10k.
If you have been driving a ford Ka a wheelbarrow will be an up grade.
I've just picked up a fiat punto grande a colour that nobody wanted to take the risk on but when the garage saw mine they ordered 3 more in that colour. Its only a 1.4 but its pretty nippy and a very attractive car turns heads, and comfortable very easy to drive and it even has a girly button
You can't go wrong with a Toyota or Mazda.

The best part of buying a car is looking at all the models on offer, are you buying new or used?
