How do i treat rust on my car?
Answers:
the best way to kill rust is use Rustseal by KBS. There's nothing like it!
PEPSI AND TINFOIL. lol mythbusters or was.. that to.. make it rusty. i dunno google it
oil !
then repaint
treat it how it deserves to be treated.
rust is essentially rotted metal its too late.
First sand it down, then treat with rust proof before spraying.
I thought it was Coke Cola, it works on battery acid also.
Navel jelly eat rust away, a mild form of acid that needs to be neutralized(baking soda). Disc sander and paint.
get a new car.
if the metal is rotting, turning to rust that is, the actual rusted part is already trash. nothing you can do will make it look like it used to, before the rust.
try storing your car inside, or getting it treated to resist rust.
First of all you should specify where you are experiencing rust problems. (i.e.; under the paint and body work, in the engine compartment; interior, etc).
(In General)-Once rust has started appearing you must completely remove all signs of it until only bare metal remains. If this is under the paint you will have to have the surface repainted (or at least sprayed with a primer) immediately after removing the rust. Most other surfaces can be protected with a little WD-40 or grease on a rag.
You need to get rid of all the rust by sanding it if it leaves a hole you will need car filler, sand again, prime and then paint to match the car.
Use wet/dry paper first, use a high grade i.e P1200 if tit is only small mild rust or a low grade i.e P40 for larger more stubborn areas. Then use primer and re-paint.
with respect
nothing - either change the panel or cut the area out and plate it -dont believe anyone who says they can do it any other way - it will return eventually
Take it to Macdonalds
Use RustSeal. I usually apply it directly over the rust. It always works for me.

With the contempt it deserves.
where & how much? I'd use KBS products for rust repair for permanent results.
Clean it until all the rust is gone even if it means grinding it of ,then use a good rust killer there are many on the market ask you local dealer then paint over with correct colour. the colour code will be on plate were chassis number is under bonnet
get some wire brushes (the type that go in a drill) go over the affected area untill the area is clean as possible then clean remainder off with wet and dry then treat with a rust eater that acts as a primer as well.
patch with mesh and plastic padding, adding some and sanding do not add too much at a time or you will find air pockets appearing as you sand down.
