Has anyone sold their car via a company that offers credit to the buyer?
Answers:
No. But I worked for a dealership in California, for fifteen years, and have seen many people do it.
they put your car on the lot for a period of time, guaranteeing u a certain for your car. (usually between low blue book and high book) Anything over that is the dealers profit, out of which the salesperson is paid. If the buyer has the necessary credit, it will be financed and when the financing is approved, the private party seller will receive his money.
I would ignore them. I got hundreds of calls from companies like that when i was selling a car and they actually started to get funny when I said I wasn't interested. I had one woman almost say I was thick for not wanting to go with them. It's rubbish and I really wouldn't waste your time or money.
Tell them OK, but only if they will deduct the fee from the sale, i.e. no sale no fee. Do NOT pay anything upfront!
Never ever pay money up front if they want to sell your car agree a price you want for it and tell them to take £80 from the fee when it is sold .
