Toyota Celica 1999-2006 model?

Im thinking of buying a used celica, any owners give me advice on buying one? what to look for (major faults, recalls etc) which model is best? any advice would be great! thanks!

Answers:
All toyotas are incredibly reliable and long-lasting, so as long as the car you are looking at has been kept up to date with services, I wouldn't expect there to be anything wrong with it.

well i dont think thereare any major defaults that you need to be concerned about but all depends on where you buy it from. also if there are any recalls they would have got them. or look under toyota.com under recalls. if this doesnt help im sorry
the toyota vvc engine is a pile of poo to be honest it suffers from bore lining problems and you can end up needing a replacement engine from 50k avoid any car with the engine code 1uzfe its on the side of the head the 180hp engine seems to be a bit better but it still has its own problems, sorry but you'd rather know now i wouldnt personally have one and i sell them!!
