Can a safety camera van park in a bus bay to catch speeding drivers?

Answers:
I sense that Jack Hackett has been caught speeding a few times. I would only hope he never has to experience having to tell a person that aloved one was killed by a joy rider or a speeder. Then again if he were the one that had to attend the accidents where people had broken limbs or where children were injured or killed he might just have a change of attitude.

To answer your question, Police safety cameras can park on any part of public property. That is the road and the sides of the road which are maintained by the DOE or Roads service. They cannot park illegally, however that is a matter for the independent complaints agency and either way would not be sufficient to have a prosecution stopped.

The best way to avoid being caught speeding is to not speed. Plan your journey, leave enough time to get there and even if you are late and willing to take the risk of speeding, be man (or woman) enough to take it on the chin and stop moaning about it.
If its police then yes, if it's private then no.

Thats as simple as it gets.
not unless you're a cop
Not legally, but when has that bothered "law-enforcers"?
As far as i'm aware it's illegal to park in a bus lane so surely it should be the same for them
1 rule for them and 1 for us!
no it is illegal to do this
Police can do anything they desire!
Apparently they can. Someone tried to have their fine quashed because the van was parked illegally but apparently they can legally park there.
If U can see where he was parked B4 U passed him from any part of the road then ya. But if there was no possible way 2 see him get a good lawyer and fight it!!
do what i do, park your car far away, go to a local shop and buy a large box of eggs and try your best to get it through the whole and hit the filthy pig in the face

no offence to real police your doing a great job!

traffic filth (police) should be castrated so that their seeds cannot be passed onto future generations

i spit on you scum suckers
yes yes you can
Not really!
Phone the local police & tell them to shift it!
Say as you were getting on the bus & you slipped & jarred your knee! They won't know any better & your going to contact the local paper & kick up a fuss!
Ask for the Inspectors name!
Good luck!
Well if they catch you speeding, you are speeding, so it doesn't matter anyway. But you can ask them to move - I used to live in a house where they kept parking next to the driveway, obstructing the entrance (or so I said). I used to drive up, park next to them, and ask them to move, saying they were causing an obstruction - they have to move then, especially as they were blocking a private lane. So if you see them there, ask them to move!
no, simple as. same as when you see them in a central reservation which is paved. they have taken a motorised vehicle over a kerb which is not lowered for said purpose.
You bet. You are only entrapped if the cops cause you to break the law, or entice you to do so.
nope it cant if it catches you you can report to your council and your not entitled to pay the fine after all why should you pay a fine get points on your liscence by some moron breaking the law themselvs
Police are like the proverbial 800lb gorilla. They can park anywhere they want.
