If a car is being run without any water, is there a risk of the car catching fire?

Ie - rad leak undetected

Answers:
yes there is a good chance it could have ,if it gets hot enough it might could catch something on fire,i own a repair shop, and i have seen a few of them burn up over that before, if it was drove for a while while hot it may have ruined the engine in it,it don't take much heat to destroy an engine, good luck,i hope this help,s.
you probably have a cracked head or block now.
unlikely but possible if the manifold were to reach a critical overheat temp
not likely
No,it would more likely stall out cuz of the overheating and quit running before anything caught on fire.
can cause severe damage and possibly a fire
The chance of it catching fire is slim to none. However, your car will overheat causing damage to the engine. This type of damage can be very major including destroying it. Fire is the least of your worries. A blown head gasket is not to bad, but a cracked or warped head or block is major. How bad did it overheat? Check for water in the oil or oil in the water. If so, you have one of the above problems. Lack of power, engine does not run smoothly, smoke from tail pipe. All signs of the same problems.
Not likely, but your engine will siege up.
There is a greater chance that the engine will seize, the head will crack or the head gasket will blow.
