Recondtioned Diff for a Merc C200?

I have had my car diagnosed with a worn out rear Diff.
Does anyone know how much money roughly I should be looking at for to have a reconditioned one supplied and fitted?
It is an R-Reg automatic with approx 102K miles.
Anyone recommend a garage around the NW4 London area?

Answers:
OK, it's the fitting that will cost you rather than the part. If you can find a London specialist that charges less than £60p/h labour, that would be nice!

I suggest you ring BMERC (Tel: 020 8883 7430 - Fax: 020 8883 3761) who are in your neck of the woods (ish). They should be able to assist.

Alternatively, try www.breakeryard.com (hotline is 0905 127 1599 - but it's £1 per minute) who CLAIM they can help. This caould source you the part for your friendly local 'under the arches' mechanic to fit: it's time consuming but not overly tricky.

I would advise sourcing the part yourself, and taking it to be fitted at a tried and trusted independent garage rather than letting the garage source the diff'. The price you'll get with a flick through the Yellow Pages will probably be better than what a garage will charge you.

Good luck, hope this helps!
